Detail: A few hours ago scene group BLUNTROLA released a LIMITED film called “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee” with a pretty decent cast including Robin Wright Penn, Winona Ryder, Keanu Reeves, Maria Bello and Monica Bellucci. The Private Lives of Pippa Lee is adapted from writer-director Rebecca Miller’s novel of the same name. The film premiered on February 9, 2009 at the 59th Berlin International Film Festival where it received pretty positive reviews.

From all outward appearances, Pippa Lee (ROBIN WRIGHT PENN) leads a charmed existence. An anchor of feminine serenity, she is the devoted wife of an accomplished publisher (ALAN ARKIN) thirty years her senior, the proud mother of two grown children, and a trusted friend and confidant to all who cross her path. But as Pippa dutifully follows her husband to a new life in a staid Connecticut retirement community, her idyllic world and the persona she has built over the course of her marriage will be put to the ultimate test.

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, the upcoming, realistic battlefield first-person shooter. As the leader of a four-man fire team, it’s up to you to successfully direct your men to their objectives and accomplish them with minimal injuries to your troops. Along with the standard campaign, Dragon Rising will also feature a multiplayer component to expand the warfare to friends or friendly competition. At a recent event, I got a chance to check out both the campaign and multiplayer, and tested the controls as both a squad member and a team leader.

For those of you who don’t know about Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, the game takes place in the near future where China has invaded a small island called Skira off the coast of its mainland for its recently discovered oil. China’s justification for its actions is that the land originally belonged to the country from the 1400s, when it was originally discovered by Chinese explorers. However, Russia has controlled Skira since the end of World War II, leading to regionalized tensions that could erupt in full scale war as both countries amass their armies along their mutual border. The US deploys troops to Skira in hopes of averting this conflict, putting you squarely up against the People’s Liberation Army. While you can play the game by yourself, it’s possible to take three additional friends and deploy into a new campaign as a squad, each player taking on the role of one of the members of the fire team.

Detail: Some of you probably know im a huge football/soccer fan, so i will definitely give this a go. HLS have released another LIMITED film tonight and its another British film called “Looking for Eric” starring former french football superstar Eric Cantona. Looking for Eric also debuted at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival, although it didnt win any awards it received some pretty good reviews.

Eric the postman is slipping through his own fingers… his wife has gone, his stepsons are out of control and the house was chaotic even before a cement mixer appeared in the front garden. Life is crazy enough, but it is Eric’s own secret that is driving him to the brink. How can he face up to Lily, the woman of his dreams, whom he once loved and walked out on many years ago? Despite the comical efforts and misplaced goodwill of his mates, Eric continues to sink.

In desperate times it takes a spliff and a special friend to help a lost postman find his way, so Eric turns to his hero: footballing genius, philosopher and poster boy, Eric Cantona.

In the horror comedy Zombieland focuses on two men who have found a way to survive a world overrun by zombies. Columbus is a big wuss — but when you’re afraid of being eaten by zombies, fear can keep you alive. Tallahassee is an AK-toting, zombie-slaying’ bad ass whose single determination is to get the last Twinkie on earth. As they join forces with Wichita and Little Rock, who have also found unique ways to survive the zombie mayhem, they will have to determine which is worse: relying on each other or succumbing to the zombies.

Detail: Here is a P2P release of a film called “Stag Night”, i havent heard much about before but judging from the trailer it looks like a pretty decent thriller for a lower budget film. Stag Night revolves around a group of four friends who are celebrating a bachelor’s night out on the NY subway when they witness the death of a transit cop. The killer or killers don’t take kindly to voyeurs and give chase.

A group of guys from a bachelor party get off the subway at a station that shut down in the 1950s and, after watching a transit cop get brutally murdered, find themselves running for their lives beneath the streets of New York.

Detail: Scene group DiVERSE have released a LIMITED British film noir style film called “Jack Said”. Jack Said is based on the graphic novel by Paul Tanter and stars Danny Dyer, David O’Hara, Simon Phillips and Terry Stone.

Nathan is a member of a criminal gang headed by the notorious Guvnor and his psychotic daughter Natalie. He befriends fellow gang member Jack Adleth who, unbeknownst to Nathan, is an undercover police officer. Nathan harbours a secret too and when he steals from the gangster family and goes underground he trusts Jack to look after his sister Erin.
